Princess Cruises has partnered with retail giant Walmart to sell cruises on its website, the company announced Wednesday. The partnership will make it easier for passengers to book a cruise and purchase goods in one place.
Princess Cruises has made a huge retail partnership for its entire fleet. The cruise line will be partnering with Target, Kohl’s, and more to bring the best deals to passengers.
Princess Cruises has launched a new partnership with Harding, a retailer. The Princess-managed in-house retail activities for 14 ships will be transferred to the cruise retailer as part of the collaboration announced on September 15.
Princess Cruises Sees More Business Opportunities
Both businesses will be able to grow and achieve their strategic goals by forming a relationship with one of the world’s biggest cruise-ship retail suppliers. It’s also one of the most important operations ever, or, as Princess puts it, “a strong indication of both businesses’ desire to utilize the relaunch as a chance to rethink what is possible with retail at sea.”
The blueprints include the fourteen ships that presently make up the princess fleet, as well as three ships that are currently being built or planned. Although Princess Cruises will remain closely engaged, Harding will oversee all retail activities aboard all ships. In reality, the current Princess retail staff will join the Harding company as part of the transfer.
“This seems like a fresh beginning,” said Kelli Coleman, Princess Cruises’ Vice President of Retail. Our magnificent industry is on the rise once again, with more confidence and ambition than ever before. This is an exciting moment for everyone in the business, and I can’t wait to get back to work.”

Princess Cruises’ operations impress Harding.
Several months ago, Harding established the tone for the retailer’s relationship with the cruise company. According to Natalya Leahy, Princess Cruises’ Chief Operations Officer, the two organizations have a strong cultural connection that will benefit customers, brands, and team members in both companies:
“When Harding contacted us a few months ago, we thought they’d be a great partner with a clear vision, strong cultural alignment, and a track record of success in the retail space. Today’s decision is the result of long and comprehensive conversations about what is best for our guests, colleagues, and brand partners, and we are sure that Harding will continue to build on the excellent foundation that our team has laid.”

“I could not be more pleased to welcome the Princess team to Harding to be part of a new team that offers the best of the best,” said James Prescott, the Managing Director of Harding. As we’ve worked together on this project, I’ve been extremely pleased with the Princess team’s professionalism, skill, passion, and pure tenacity.

What exactly is Harding?
Harding is a cruise ship retail business that has been engaged in many cruise ship partnerships throughout the globe since its founding in the 1930s. The business now operates over 250 stores aboard 62 cruise ships, representing 22 cruise lines. Carnival Cruise Line, Seabourn, Virgin Voyages, Norwegian Cruise Line, Regent Seven Seas, and many more are among the companies with whom the business collaborates.
“In my 30 years in cruise retailing, I have been privileged to witness some really ground breaking changes,” said Neil Harding, President of Harding. In many respects, this is a watershed moment. We put a great importance on our partnership with Princess and am thankful for their faith and confidence in us.”
The Harding retail shops will now be included in Princess Cruises’ relaunch of operations. Majestic Princess, Grand Princess, Ruby Princess, Enchanted Princess, Sky Princess, Regal Princess, Caribbean Princess, and Emerald Princess are among the cruise line’s MedallionClass ships that are expected to be operational by the end of November.
Guests onboard all of these ships will be able to pay contactlessly using the cruise line’s Medallion wearables.
Princess Cruises made a partnership with retail giant Macy’s to sell cruises in the US. This is great news for consumers, as it means that they will be able to purchase cruises from the retailer without having to go through the cruise line. Reference: when will princess cruises resume sailing.
