Carnival Cruise Line has cancelled all of its scheduled Carnival Sunrise cruises for this year. They are offering refunds so guests can look forward to another trip next year, but they have said the trips will be back up in 2019.
The “carnival glory dry dock 2021” is a cruise line that has been in operation since the early 1900s. The company announced that they will be undergoing scheduled maintenance in 2020.
Due to yearly maintenance on the ship, guests booked on Carnival Sunrise sailings have been notified that their trip has been cancelled. On November 16, guests received a letter advising them of the change and their choices going ahead.
Cancellations for the Carnival Sunrise
Many visitors were looking forward to their voyage on the Carnival Sunrise in 2022, but were disappointed today. Guests booked on numerous sailings between April 23, 2022, and May 21, 2022, have been notified that their trip has been canceled by Carnival Cruise Line.
The Sunshine-class vessel is undergoing yearly maintenance, which is the cause for the cancellations. There was no further explanation given.

“In our continued efforts to improve our product, Carnival Sunrise has now been scheduled for her yearly maintenance,” Carnival writes in a letter to concerned passengers. As a consequence, we regret to tell you that your cruise will not be operated, and your reservation will be canceled.”
“We have a range of different cruise possibilities,” the cruise line says, “and we are convinced you will discover another Carnival holiday that is packed with an equal level of FUN.”
What will happen during the repair is unknown, but the ship will enter dry dock on April 23 and depart on May 25, 2022. The ship is anticipated to have the new red, white, and blue livery that has been rolled out throughout the fleet. There might also be modest renovations such as new carpeting and tiling in select sections.
On August 14, 2021, Carnival Sunrise resumed service from Miami, Florida. The Carnival cruise ship is traveling to the Eastern, Western, and Bahamas on four- and five-day cruises, stopping at famous locations like Ocho Rios in Jamaica, Nassau in the Bahamas, and even the cruise line’s own island of Half Moon Cay in the Bahamas.
On August 17, the ship was the first in the series to return to Jamaica, giving much-needed money to local businesses that rely on cruise ship guests.
Guests who have been impacted
The cancellations of the Carnival Sunrise could not have come at a worse time, since customers were eager to board the ship, which had been on hold for more than 17 months. Many people have also questioned why the cruise operator is arranging the repair now rather than during the months while the ship was stranded.

To compensate for the cancellations, passengers will receive a $25 onboard credit that will be applied to their Sail & Sign Account for a future trip. Guests may search for another trip and have their cruise pricing guaranteed on a similar voyage.
A complete refund is also available through Carnival Cruise Company, which includes pre-purchased packages booked via the cruise line. It might take up to three weeks for the entire refund to be processed. By November 30, 2021, guests must contact Carnival directly or via their travel agent to tell them of their chosen alternative.
Carnival Sunrise’s most recent dry dock was in 2019, when the ship was renamed Carnival Sunrise after undergoing a huge overhaul from the Carnival Triumph.
