Lawmakers’ Letter Asks Biden to Mandate COVID Vaccination or Negative Test to Fly

After a recent outbreak of measles in New York, lawmakers are asking the federal government to mandate that people will have to get COVID administered or take a negative test before flying. Critics say this move would be too costly and could limit air travel for those who can’t afford it.

The “which airlines do not require covid vaccine to fly” is a letter that was written by lawmakers to the Secretary of State. The letter asks for the negative test to be mandatory for all travelers.

A US Senator and 35 members of the House of Representatives have written to President Joe Biden, urging him to enact a requirement that all domestic airline passengers provide evidence of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test before flying.

The letter, dated Thursday and entered into the record on Friday, requests that restrictions be put in place before the Christmas season, which starts in two weeks, but deliberately avoids terminology that would indicate whether the obligation would be limited to the holidays or would continue beyond that. It does highlight the possibility of a viral outbreak in the winter.

Coronaviruses are a large family of viruses that are common in many different species of animals, including camels, cattle, cats, and bats.

“As the Christmas season approaches, we urge that you demand airline customers to provide confirmation of complete immunization against COVID-19 or a negative test to board a domestic aircraft,” the letter added. “We also propose that existing safety regulations for trains and other popular means of public transportation be revised to reflect the best available data in order to prevent COVID-19 from spreading.” This is a critical and long-overdue step toward ensuring that all Americans feel comfortable and secure when traveling and reducing the risks of another tragic winter surge.”

Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) and 35 members of Congress signed the political letter. Every single one of the 35 people is a Democrat.

Most airlines are opposed to a required vaccination policy for flyers, especially because the face mask regulation is in force until at least mid-January.

Since the limitations were removed on November 8, Canada has required immunizations for all modes of transportation, and the United States has approved a vaccine requirement for all foreign air passengers arriving in the United States.

“Application of comparable techniques to domestic air travel will guarantee Americans may safely see their loved ones throughout the holidays while also minimizing household introduction and spread of COVID-19 from visiting relatives and friends,” the congressmen said in their letter. “Due of the potential of COVID-19 exposure, many Americans are still hesitant to spend lengthy amounts of time in confined public settings.” For domestic flights, requiring evidence of vaccination or a negative test can help address these fears.”

The “vaccine mandate flights” is a letter that has been sent to Joe Biden, the current Vice President of the United States. The letter asks him to mandate COVID vaccination or negative test for all passengers.
