Military members, veterans and their families can save on travel packages with military discounts. These deals are available for people who have served in the United States Armed Forces or a branch of the United States Armed Forces.

Some of the country’s major travel companies offer discounts and perks to help make travel experiences a little more affordable for active and retired military, as well as veterans of the United States armed forces, to acknowledge and honor the immeasurable debt our nation owes to U.S. military members and their families.

Walt Disney World Resort in Florida is giving four- or five-day Military Promotional Tickets with Park Hopper or Park Hopper Plus choices to honor U.S. current and former military veterans. Military Promotional Tickets are available for purchase until December 17, 2021 (and must be utilized by that date). Memory Maker, a Disney PhotoPass product, is also available at a reduced price of $98 for military personnel. Finally, military members may get reduced prices on Disney Resort Collection hotel accommodations.

Universal Orlando Resort – The 2022 Military Freedom Pass honors active service and retired military troops by providing entry to military personnel and their families at any time between November 11, 2021 and December 31, 2022, with no blackout days. Universal Studios Florida and Universal’s Islands of Adventure are both included in the 2-Park 2022 Military Freedom Pass, which costs $199.99 per adult. The 3-Park 2022 Military Freedom Pass also includes entrance to Universal’s Volcano Bay aquatic theme park for an extra $35. Military Freedom Passes are only available at participating military facilities’ Military Ticket and Travel Offices. Military personnel also get a 40% discount at Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort and a 30% discount at other Universal hotels. There are also inexpensive vacation packages available.

Legoland Florida Resort – Until November 20, 2021, all active, retired, and veteran military members will enjoy free entrance to Legoland Florida Resort, as well as a 60 percent discount on up to six tickets for visitors. During the month of November, upgrade to a hotel stay and save up to 25% on certain dates.

Legoland California Resort — Active-duty U.S. military personnel get a 10% discount year-round at Legoland California Resort. Non-active military, veterans, and military families may get reduced tickets and special rates by contacting their local ITT office on base.

During Military Tribute Days at Knott’s Berry Farm, active, retired, and veteran U.S. military members are eligible for reduced park entry for themselves and up to five guests. Tickets cost $20 and may be purchased online or at participating Military Ticket Offices. From November 1–18 and November 29–December 16, 2021, this offer is valid for entry on Mondays through Thursdays. Discounts for U.S. military personnel are offered all year, beginning at $53 per person.

Hotels:

With a qualifying stay, military personnel may earn Lifetime Gold Elite Status in the Choice Privileges Rewards Program and get 2,500 points. Also, via the ‘Feed a Vet’ initiative, you may save up to 15% by scheduling and pre-paying for a stay before December 31, 2021.

Hilton Hotels & Resorts – When searching for dates, active and former military, veterans, and their families may save 10% on leisure stays by selecting the ‘Government’ pricing box from the ‘Special Rates’ dropdown menu.

InterContinental Hotels Group – Active and former military people, as well as their families, may benefit from the IHG Military Appreciate Hotel Rate at participating hotels in the United States, Canada, Central America, and South America.

Marriott — When available, active-duty military personnel are eligible for reduced hotel rates. Select the ‘Government & Military’ option from the ‘Special Rates’ dropdown menu to check availability.

Airlines:

Special military prices are offered on American Airlines in specific markets, but only by phoning Reservations. Active military personnel are eligible for Group 1 boarding, which allows them to check up to three bags (each weighing no more than 50 pounds) for free for personal travel. The Admirals Club is also open to military personnel traveling in uniform.

Delta Air Lines — Active-duty military and government personnel may get reduced fares by contacting Delta’s Military and Government desk at 800-221-1212. When flying on current transfer orders, they are also entitled for early boarding, additional free checked luggage limits, and the option to check their pets as baggage (for a cost).

United Airlines — Active-duty military, veterans, National Guard and Reserve members, as well as their families, are eligible for up to a 5% discount on United or United Express flights. However, you must book tickets via United’s website and first enroll in the airline’s Veterans Advantage program. Active-duty military members are entitled to free checked luggage, as well as pre-boarding and access to United Club locations.

Southwest Airlines — According to an MSN story, Southwest offers special prices for military and government people, but you must contact Customer Service at 800-435-9792 to make a reservation. Excess baggage fees are waived for military travelers traveling on active duty, as long as none of the items weigh more than 100 pounds or measure more than 80 inches in length.
