Carnival Cruise Line Provides Limited Testing at Terminals

Carnival Cruise Line recently introduced a series of terminals at their ports that allow passengers to check in, purchase tickets and print boarding passes for embarking on the journey. These new terminals offer quick and convenient services for travelers who desire them.

The “carnival restart by ship” is a new service that Carnival Cruise Line has introduced. The service allows passengers to get on and off the cruise line at designated ports of call, without having to take a break in their vacation.

Carnival Cruise Line informs passengers about a new restricted pre-cruise testing opportunity. For those customers who are having trouble arranging an appointment via the approved means, the cruise company will begin offering testing at the port.

Option for Limited Pre-Cruise Testing

Due to the difficulty in booking a pre-cruise appointment in time for a voyage, Carnival Cruise Line has created a last resort alternative. Guests who are unable to complete their pre-cruise exam may make a reservation at the terminal beginning November 5.

Only a limited number of antigen tests are available for sailings leaving until November 29, 2021, and the terminal testing option is only available for sailings departing until November 29, 2021. The cruise company is only providing this service to customers who have been vaccinated.

Cruise Testing

“As you know, current procedures require vaccinated passengers to undergo a pre-cruise COVID-10 test (PCR or antigen) within two days of sailing,” Carnival writes in an email to booked guests. We appreciate that certain passengers may have difficulty obtaining a pre-cruise testing appointment, therefore as of today, we will be able to conduct a limited number of antigen tests for vaccinated guests exclusively for sailings leaving November 5 – November 29, 2021.”

Guests may make their appointment by clicking on the links provided in the letter. From the end of September 2021, Royal Caribbean will provide a comparable service.

What Ports Are There, and How Much Do They Cost?

The terminal testing is accessible at all ports where Carnival cruise ships dock, including Baltimore, Galveston, Long Beach, New Orleans, Miami, Port Canaveral, and Tampa. Guests must make a reservation in advance, and there is a limit on the number of people who may stay.

There will be a $100 fee per person for passengers who choose this new Carnival option, which will be promptly applied to the onboard Sail & Sign account. The cruise company has indicated that if the terminal’s testing goes well, it may be extended for subsequent sailings beyond November 29.

The Abbot BinaxNOW home exam, which has been a popular choice that may be performed at home by an EMed expert online, is recommended by Carnival. Another alternative is to schedule testing with Quest Diagnostics, which has over 1,500 sites nationwide, including particular Walmart and pharmacy locations.

The cruise company has previously said that conducting testing at the terminal before to departure would be difficult logistically. As a consequence, Carnival Cruise Line decided not to go forward with the proposal. Since then, additional cruise lines, including partner lines like Princess Cruises, have provided the option.

The “carnival cruise news” is the latest update on the Carnival Cruise Line. The company has provided limited testing at terminals, which means that they are not allowing passengers to board their ships until further notice.
