The Disney Cruise Line is Sailing From California Again is a story about the Disney Cruise Line returning to sailing from San Diego in 2020. Read more in detail here: disney cruise cancellation policy 2020 coronavirus.

The Disney Cruise Line has resumed sailings out of San Diego. Today, the Disney Wonder takes sail for the first time in over 18 months in southern California.

The Halloween on the High Seas cruise will stop at Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, with a decreased capacity.

The vessel’s three-night sailings will go in the other direction, stopping in at Ensenada. On November 5, the 84,000-gross-registered-ton Wonder will embark on a 14-night voyage to Galveston, Texas. On the two-week Panama Canal passage, the company requires that every passenger, regardless of age, be vaccinated. This implies that children who are not eligible for the vaccination will be denied the opportunity to sail.

In the coming months, the Disney Wonder won’t be the only ship traveling from San Diego. The Port of San Diego is expecting over 100 cruise calls from different lines, including Holland America, Princess, and Celebrity, when the cruise industry returns to operation.

Disney, like other cruise companies, has taken a gradual approach to resuming sailing. All four ships were moored in Brest, France, during the closure for health checks and personnel return.

In the Bahamas, the Disney Fantasy anchored at Castaway Cay.

Wonder is the third of the four Disney ships to restart service in North America. The Disney Dream began sailing from Port Canaveral in August, followed by the Disney Fantasy a few weeks later. The Disney Magic, which is presently sailing throughout Northern Europe, will dock at PortMiami on October 28 for three, four, and five-night voyages. Fantasy will switch to seven-night sailings from Central Florida on October 9.

Every passenger 12 and older must be completely vaccinated within 14 days before sailing, as well as tested at the dock prior to embarkation, according to Disney’s current cruise standards. The cruise company will cover the expense of pierside testing.

Guests under the age of 12 must provide evidence of a negative PCR test done between three days and 24 hours before to the voyage, and they will be tested at the dock as well.

Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship, Disney Wish, is set to launch next summer. It will set sail on June 9, 2022, on a five-night cruise to Nassau, Bahamas, and Disney’s own island, Castaway Cay, followed by an initial season of three- and four-night cruises from Port Canaveral, Florida, to the same locations.
