Silversea, the luxury travel company, has launched its first international television commercial. The ad was shot in London and features a woman who is overcome with emotion while walking through the city’s streets.

Silversea Cruises, an ultra-luxury cruise company, has debuted its first worldwide television ad, aimed at inspiring inquisitive tourists to explore the globe.
The 30-second television spot, which is part of an integrated multi-channel advertising campaign that includes print, digital, and social media, will debut on major national television networks and streaming platforms in the United States and the United Kingdom on September 27, 2021, before expanding to markets around the world.
The television ad, created by Silversea’s Global Creative Director José M. Vuolo, encourages inquisitive tourists to explore the globe with a fresh sense of wonder. The commercial’s protagonist is Silversea partner and world-renowned photographer Steve McCurry, who encourages viewers to embrace their urge to reconnect with the planet.
“To those of you who have been longing to travel: It’s time,” McCurry writes from his cabin onboard the Silver Spirit in an open invitation titled “To the Curious.” The world is about to reopen. “Let the world in.”
Barbara Muckermann, Silversea’s chief commercial officer, said, “Silversea is facing its biggest growth yet.” “However, this expansion corresponds with a unique period in the history of travel. The world’s doors were shut on us; now they’re opening again, and it’s our job as the world’s top ultra-luxury cruise line to rekindle our passengers’ love for exploration and remind them that it’s time to start exploring again safely, which is probably the greatest luxury of all right now. Our motto is “to the inquisitive,” and our first worldwide television campaign will target curious visitors all around the globe. After all, our visitors are travelers, not tourists, who seek for human connections and experiences rather than monuments. Their unifying denominator, their motivating factor, is curiosity.”
What’s Hot Right Now
The television ad is accompanied by a print campaign that features pictures taken by McCurry when he was on a Silversea cruise.
“These pictures are practically an invitation,” Muckermann remarked, “though there is rarely a need for one.” “Everyone is ready to go.”
McCurry has been a Silversea Cruises ambassador for many years. Since beginning his artistic partnership with Silversea in 2017, the award-winning photographer has traveled with the cruise line on more than 25 trips, shooting more than 500 pictures from across the world.
